Center History

  In response to the wave of digital transformation of small and medium-sized enterprises in Taiwan, the Internet of Things, big data analysis, cloud computing and 5G high-speed networks have gradually become the core capabilities driving the transformation of various industries, thus forming a huge demand for intelligent Internet of Things technical talents and the Internet of Things application market. The school is located in the tropical agricultural production area of Taiwan. It is the only teaching and research university among the 175 colleges and universities in Taiwan that features tropical agriculture. Through the introduction of smart Internet of Things, e-commerce and 5G high-speed network technology, it is more dependent on the characteristics and expertise of the Department of Information Management Systems, the National Pingtung University of Science and Technology E-Commerce R&D Center (hereinafter referred to as the Center) is to effectively integrate the innovative R&D technology of the Internet of Things within and across schools, enhance the R&D energy, and focus on the Internet of Things system design and implementation, while actively cultivating talents in artificial intelligence, Internet of Things, e-commerce and high-speed network, in order to benefit the future development of Taiwan's information and communication industry, as well as the smart Internet of Things and the new generation of 5G network industry.


Established Purpose

  The center is to integrate the research and development energy of the teachers and students of the Department of Information Management Systems, and form the school's information management technology service window to form a cross-disciplinary cooperation team to provide and assist schools and industries related to information management systems. Consulting, design, research and development and construction services. In addition, the center will provide guidance and education and training services to relevant industry manufacturers through industry-university cooperation, so as to improve the quality and technical level of e-commerce in the southern region, so that the e-commerce industry can truly grow and have a competitive advantage.


Direction of Development

Technical Consulting:Provide information and communication technology, smart Internet of Things and information management technology consulting services.

Talent Education:Provide students with a research and development practice environment, and combine with the department's cross-disciplinary laboratory to share resources, so that students can enjoy a variety of learning resources, and strive for school and employment programs and counseling programs. Short the gap between the students and the industries from the industry-university cooperation to training the students’ practical experience.

Industry-university Cooperation:Establish an industry-university cooperation mechanism, provide counseling and education and training services for relevant industry manufacturers, and actively strive for industry-academia plans from relevant government units (such as the Ministry of Economic Affairs, the Ministry of Education or the Ministry of Science and Technology).

Undertake Industry-government-university Research Projects:In the cross-field (college, department) research group model, the school's information management technology service window is formed, and it undertakes industry-government-university research projects, including the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Education, and the industry and academia.

Information Systems Development and Production:To undertake the planning, design, research and development, production and consulting of information management software systems, network systems, e-commerce systems and Internet of Things systems in academia and industry.
